Praise ye the Lord. Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord.

About Us

Awakening PraiseAwakening Praise is a group of ladies representing various denominations who minister the heart of God through dance. We are sponsored by Cookeville First Assembly of God in Cookeville, Tennessee. We believe that God is restoring the gift of dance to His church to have its proper place as a powerful tool of ministry in worship, warfare and celebration. Our desire is to humbly and sincerely worship our Lord through the beautiful language of physical expression through our bodies being a sacrifice that will be holy and acceptable unto Him. And in doing so, we give God all the glory, honor, and praise!

We are available to dance at your church.

We Have Come to Worship Jesus

The following poem provided the inspiration for our name.

Awakening Praises

Awakening praises to God we outpour,
Proclaiming salvation and love evermore,
That sinners may know Him
And reverence show Him,
And with the redeemed ones exalt and adore,
For He is the Ruler all others above
And worthy of praises and homage and love.

So many still sleep in the valleys of sin,
And dream of the pleasures that stain them within;
And so, to awake them,
Let death over take them,
And tell them where pardon and peace they may win,
Awakening praises together we sing,
Exalting our mighty Redeemer and King.

The world needs awakening out of its dream,
For forces of evil still threaten and scheme,
God's power still craving,
The weak still enslaving,
And holding them back from the soul-cleansing stream
And so, for our Master we ceaselessly raise
Our voices together in anthems of praise.

Awakening praises we send o'er the world,
Safe under the standard that never is furled
For Christ and its glory
To sing the old story
To some, that His name on their souls be impearled;
And may the Redeemer His blessing bestow
On awakening praises where e'er it may go.
